Testing the Parking Brake
!MWARNING
Before testing the park brake make sure the area
around the machine is clear of people.

Test the brake on a level, dry surface. Make sure your seat
belt is securely fastened.
!M
WARNING
If you do not wear your seat belt you could be thrown
about inside the machine, or thrown out of the
machine and crushed. You must wear a seat belt when
using the machine. Fasten the seat belt before starting
the engine.

1 Put the machine in the Travelling Position.
2 Make Sure the Parking Brake is Engaged.
3 Set the Hand Throttle to the Excavating Speed
Position.
4 Test the Brake.
Make sure that there are no obstructions or people in
front of or behind the machine, then slowly operate
the drive control pedal to forward or reverse. Press
the pedal no more than half way. The machine should
not move.
Note: The warning buzzer will sound when the drive pedal
is depressed. This is because the parking brake is
engaged
Release the drive control pedal and reduce the
engine speed to idle.
!MWARNING
Do not use a machine with a faulty park brake.

Non approved modifications to drive ratios, machine
weight or wheel and tyre sizes may adversely affect
the performance of the parking brake.
