Series 2 Machines with Wheel Mounted
Hydraulic Motors
In addition to carrying out the procedure detailed on the
previous page it will be necessary to release the hydraulic
brake on each rear wheel motor.
1 Remove the knobs from the backhoe control levers.
2 Remove the rear floor plate retaining bolts (4 off) and
lift out the rear floor plate taking care not to snag the
clamp switch wires. Disconnect the wires from the
clamp switch.
3 Disconnect the two brake feed hoses A and B from
the control valve tee piece and connect to a new tee
piece. Blank the exposed ports of the control valve
tee piece.
4 Connect the new tee piece to a hydraulic hand pump
with pressure gauge and non-return valve.
5 Operate the hand pump to apply sufficient pressure to
release the brakes. Minimum pressure to be applied
is 15 bar (218 lbf/in
2
) but do not exceed 40 bar (580
lbf/in
2
).
Note: If the machine is to be towed: Maximum towing
speed - 2kph (1.2mph); Maximum towing distance - 1km
(0.6 mile).
After Towing/Winching
1 Release the pressure from the hand pump and
reconnect the two brake hoses A and B to the original
tee piece on the control valve.
2 Replace the rear floor plate, remembering to
reconnect the clamp switch wires, and control lever
knobs.
