3. After driving the vehicle for up to 20 minutes above
15 mph (24 km/h), the TPMS Warning Light will flash on
and
off for 75 seconds and then remain on solid. In addi-
tion, the instrument cluster will display a “Service Tire
P
res
sure System” message for five seconds and then
display dashes (- -) in place of the pressure value.
4. For each subsequent ignition cycle, a chime will sound, the
TPM
S Warning Light will flash on and off for3 75 seconds
and then remain on solid, and the instrument cluster will
display a “SERVICE TIRE PRESSURE SYSTEM” message
for five seconds and then display dashes (- -) in place of the
pressure value.
5. Once you repair or replace the original road tire and rein-
sta
ll it on the vehicle in place of the compact spare or
non-
matching full size, the TPMS will update automati-
cally. In addition, the TPMS Warning Light will turn off
a
nd
the graphic in the instrument cluster will display a
new pressure value instead of dashes (- -), as long as no
tire pressure is below the low-pressure warning limit in
any of the four active road tires. The vehicle may need to
be driven for up to 20
minutes above 15 mph (24 km/h)
in o
rder for the TPMS to receive this information.
Vehicles With a Full Size Matching Spare
1. If your vehicle is equipped with a matching full-size
spa
re wheel and tire assembly, it has a tire pressure moni-
toring sensor, and can be monitored by the Tire Pressure
M
oni
toring System (TPMS) when swapped with a low
pressure road tire.
2. In the event that the matching full-size spare tire is
swap
ped with a low pressure road tire, the next ignition
switch cycle will still show the TPMS Warning Light to be
on, a chime to sound, an “Inflate to XX” message to
appear in the instrument cluster, and the graphic display
will still show the low tire pressure value in a different
color.
3. Driving the vehicle for up to 20 mi
nutes above 15 mph
(24 km/h) will turn off the TPMS Warning Light as long
as n
one of road tires are below the low pressure warning
threshold.
