Driving your vehicle Trailer towing (for Australia, New Zealand)
and rear axles, called Gross Axle
Weight Rating (GAWR).
Never exceed the GVWR for your
vehicle, or the Gross Axle Weight
Rating (GAWR) for either the front
or rear axle. And, if you do have a
heavy load, you should spread it out.
Your warranty does not cover parts
or components that fail because of
overloading.
Do not load your vehicle any heavier
than the GVWR or the maximum
front and rear GAWR. If you do,
change to the vehicle may occur, or
it can change the way your vehicle
handles. These could cause you to
lose control. Also, overloading can
shorten the life of your vehicle.
Trailer towing (for Australia,
New Zealand) (if equipped)
If you are considering towing with
your vehicle, you should first check
with your country's Department of
Motor Vehicles to determine their
legal requirements.
Since laws vary the requirements
for towing trailers, cars, or other
types of vehicles or apparatus may
differ. Kia recommends to ask an
authorised Kia dealer/service part
-
ner.
WARNING
Towing a trailer
If you don't use the correct equip
-
ment and drive improperly, you can
lose control when you pull a trailer.
For example, if the trailer is too
heavy, the brakes may not work
well - or even at all. You and your
passengers could be seriously or
fatally injured. Pull a trailer only if
you have followed all the steps in
this section.
WARNING
Weight limits
Before towing, make sure the total
trailer weight, gross combination
weight, gross vehicle weight, gross
axle weight and trailer tongue load
are all within the limits.
