• Be sure the exhaust system does
not leak.

checkedwheneverthevehicle

foranyotherpurpose.Ifyou
hearachangeinthesoundof
theexhaustorifyoudriveover
somethingthatstrikesthe
underneathsideofthevehicle,
havethesystemcheckedby

Lettingtheengineidleinyour
garage,evenwiththegaragedoor
open,isahazardouspractice.
Neverruntheengineinyour
garageanylongerthanittakesto
starttheengineandbackthecar
out.
• Avoid idling the engine for
prolonged periods with people
inside the car.
Ifitisnecessarytoidletheengine
foraprolongedperiodwithpeople
insidethecar,besuretodoso
onlyinanopenareawiththe
airintakesetat“Fresh”andfan
operatingatoneofthehigher
speedssofreshairisdrawninto
theinterior.
Ifyoumustdrivewiththetrunk
lidopenbecauseyouarecarrying
objectsthatmakethisnecessary:
1.Closeallwindows.
2.Opensidevents.
3.Settheairintakecontrolat
“Fresh”,theairflowcontrolat
“Floor”or“Face”andthefanat
oneofthehigherspeeds.
Toassureproperoperationofthe
ventilationsystem,besurethe
ventilationairintakeslocatedjust
infrontofthewindshieldarekept
clearofsnow,ice,leavesorother
obstructions.
