Thefollowinglistsarevehicle
checksandinspectionsthatshould
beperformedatthefrequencies
indicatedtohelpensuresafe,
dependableoperationofyour
vehicle.
Anyadverseconditionsshouldbe
broughttotheattentionofyour
dealerassoonaspossible.
TheseOwnerMaintenanceChecks
aregenerallynotcoveredby
warrantiesandyoumaybecharged
forlabor,partsandlubricantsused.
Owner maintenance schedule
When you stop for fuel:
• Checktheengineoillevel.
• Checkthecoolantlevelinthe
coolantreservoir.
• Checkthewindshieldwasherfluid
level.
• Lookforloworunder-inflated
tires.
WARNING
Becarefulwhencheckingyour
enginecoolantlevelwhentheengine
ishot.Scaldinghotcoolantand
steammayblowoutunderpressure.
Thiscouldcauseburnsorother
seriousinjury.
While operating your vehicle:
• Noteanychangesinthesound
oftheexhaustoranysmellof
exhaustfumesinthevehicle.
• Checkforvibrationsinthe
steeringwheel.Noticeany
increasedsteeringeffortor
loosenessinthesteeringwheel,
orchangeinitsstraightahead
position.
• Noticeifyourvehicleconstantly
turnsslightlyor“pulls”tooneside
whentravelingonsmooth,level
road.
• Whenstopping,listenandcheck
forunusualsounds,pullingtoone
side,increasedbrakepedaltravel
or“hard-to-push”brakepedal.
• Ifanyslippingorchangesinthe
operationofyourtransmission
occurs,checkthetransmission
fluidlevel.
• Checkmanualtransmission
operation,includingclutch
operation.
• Checktheparkingbrake.
• Checkforfluidleaksunderyour
vehicle(waterdrippingfromthe
airconditioningsystemduringor
afteruseisnormal).
At least monthly:
• Checkthecoolantlevelinthe
enginecoolantreservoir.
• Checktheoperationofallexterior
lights,includingthestoplights,
turnsignalsandhazardwarning
flashers.
