• Allvehiclesshouldalwayshave
theparkingbrakefullyengaged
whenparkingtoavoidinadvertent
movementofthevehicle
whichcaninjureoccupantsor
pedestrians.

Checkthebrakewarninglightby
turningtheignitionswitchON(do
notstarttheengine).Thislightwill
beilluminatedwhentheparking
brakeisappliedwiththeignition
switchintheSTARTorONposition.
Beforedriving,besuretheparking
brakeisfullyreleasedandthebrake
warninglightisoff.
Ifthebrakewarninglightremainson
aftertheparkingbrakeisreleased
whileengineisrunning,theremay
beamalfunctioninthebrake
system.Immediateattentionis
necessary.
Ifatallpossible,ceasedrivingthe
vehicleimmediately.Ifthatisnot
possible,useextremecautionwhile
operatingthevehicleandonly
continuetodrivethevehicleuntil
youcanreachasafelocationor
repairshop.
Electronic parking brake (EPB) (if
equipped)
Applying the parking brake

To apply the EPB (electronic
parking brake):
1.Depressthebrakepedal.
2.PulluptheEPBswitch.
Makesurethewarninglightcomes
on.
Also,theEPBisapplied
automaticallyiftheAutoHold
buttonisonwhentheengineis
turnedoff.However,ifyoukeep
pressingtheEPBswitchtillthe
engineisturnedoff,theEPBwillnot
beapplied.

Onasteepinclineorwhenpullinga
trailerifthevehicledoesnotstand
still,doasfollows:
1.ApplytheEPB.
