TheoptionsfortheinitialForward
CollisionWarningincludesthe
following:
• Normal:
Whenthisconditionisselected,
theinitialForwardCollision
Warningisactivatednormally.
Thissettingallowsforanominal
amountofdistancebetweenthe
vehicleaheadbeforetheinitial
warningoccurs.
• Later:
Whenthisconditionisselected,
theinitialForwardCollision
Warningisactivatedlaterthan
normal.Thissettingreducesthe
amountofdistancebetweenthe
vehicleaheadbeforetheinitial
warningoccurs.
Select‘Later’whentrafficislight
andwhendrivingspeedisslow.If
thevehicleinfrontputsonaburst
ofspeed,thedrivercannotice
thewarningalarmisearlyeven
thoughthelateroptionisselected.
Prerequisite for activation
TheFCAgetsreadytobeactivated,
whentheActiveAssistorWarning
OnlyundertheForwardSafetyis
selectedontheLCDdisplay,and
whenthefollowingprerequisitesare
satisfied.
• TheESCisactivated.
• Thedrivingspeedisover10km/h.
(However,FCAisactivatedwithin
certaindrivingspeed.)
• Whenrecognizingthevehicleor
thepedestrianinfront.(However,
FCAdoesnotactivateaccording
toconditionsinfrontandvehicle
systems,butitnoticesonly
certainwarnings.)
• FCAdoesnotoperateproperlyor
itonlyproducesawarningalarms
inaccordancewiththedrivingor
vehiclecondition.
• Ifthewarningonlyunderthe
ForwardSafetyisselected,FCA
producesonlywarningalarmsin
accordancewiththecollisionrisk
levels.
WARNING
• TheFCAautomaticallyactivates
uponplacingtheignitionswitch
totheONposition.Thedrivercan
deactivatetheFCAbycanceling
thesystemsettingontheLCD
display.
• TheFCAautomaticallydeactivates
uponcancelingtheESC.Whenthe
ESCiscanceled,theFCAcannotbe
