Density measurement page 63
9.1.2 Immersion speed (mm/min)
When the probe holder has been tared and the weight of the probe has been
measured the holder is immersed in the liquid. At a later stage the holder is immersed
in the liquid for a second time together with the probe. The speed at which this takes
place is defined under
Immersion speed
. The value of 100mm/min set by us is
normally suitable; however, it should be reduced for very viscous liquids as otherwise
in extreme cases the measuring rod could be pressed out of the holder.
9.2 Measuring the density
Check whether all the requirements contained in the check list (Ö ch. 6.5) have
been met.
!
Before starting the measurement the empty holder for the density probe must
be inserted in the measuring probe holder. The probe itself must not be inserted
in the probe holder as the weight of the holder must be tared first.
!
The probe must be properly clean before making a measurement and must not
be touched by the fingers during the measurement.
Start the measurement with ENT key.
!
When you reach one of the steps in which the probe is inserted or removed wait
until the device no longer moves before confirming with ENT.
*
You can accelerate this process by using forceps to gently brake the
movement.
