7 Measurements with the plate or rod method

Measuring with a rod is assigned to the plate measuring method. When measuring
with a rod the wetted length of the rod used must be entered (
Ö ch. 7.1.4). Apart
from that, the same instructions as for the plate method apply.
7.1 Main menu “Plate Method”
In order to access the main menu of the plate method press the key
.
The following display appears:
You will find the current settings for measurements with the plate method in the four
lines in the centre. If you want to retain the settings then you can start the
measurement with the ENT-key (for the measurement itself
Ö ch. 0).
To make
alterations
to the settings press the key
.
The entries are confirmed with ENT; you can select between the parameters with the
two vertical arrow keys. ESC exits the
Modify
mode. When the instrument is switched
off the alterations are saved and retained when the instrument is switched on again.
7.1.1 Measuring mode
Here you can choose between surface and interfacial tension measurements. (0)
stands for surface tension (
SFT
), (1) for interfacial tension (
IFT
).
