3 The Measurement Module
Introduction
This chapter describes the menu items and settings in the Measurement module of the Laborie alpHaONE
application. For a complete overview, use the Help feature provided in the application.
TostarttheMeasurementmodule,fromtheDatabasemodule,clicktheNewinvestigation button. If more than one
system is installed, you will need to select the appropriate measurement system.
The four buttons at the top of the window initiate the actions that you can perform. On the right side of the window
areillustrationsthatgraphicallydepictthecurrenttask,operationinprogress,orstatus;atitlebarthatprovidesstatus
information;and,towardthebottom,instructionsonhowtoproceedwiththeinvestigation.

Theinvestigationprotocolscompriseimportantinvestigationsettingsthatyoucancongure.Formoreinformation
about investigation protocols, refer to the section later on this page.
The Menu Bar
The subsections that follow describe the items available on the Database module menu bar.
alpHaONE
The alpHaONE menu contains only one command, Transfer data. Use this to initiate the retransfer of data from the
alpHaONE recorder to the computer.
Settings
Thesubsectionsthatfollowdescribethesettingsthatareavailableforyoutocongurefromthismenu.
The Edit Protocol Dialog Box
Onthemenubar,clickSettings > Editprotocol and then select the protocol from the list of 10 protocols that you want
to change. The Editprotocol dialog box opens, as illustrated in Figure3-1.
