4.2.3.2 Air Valves Block
The air valves are solenoid valves. The air valves supply pressurized air to
the rotary drives of the feed dosing unit(s) and the cylinder of the M-box.
The air valves are installed on a valve terminal. A standard configuration
has one solenoid valve for a feed funnel, one solenoid valve for the M-
box cylinder and four blanking plates. If an additional feed funnel is
installed, an additional air valve is also installed. The valves are controlled
by the ADS3830 PCB.
4.2.3.3 Velos Box
In Qwes ISO leg models, a velos box is installed to convert the analog
antenna signal to a digital signal that is appropriate for the ADS3830
PCB.
The velos box is installed in the control box (see figure 12 on page 4-12).
4.2.3.4 Photocell
The photocell has a housing that contains an emitting element (infrared
LED) and a receiving element (photodiode). It is installed on a bracket on
the base plate of the control box.
The photocell gets input when a cow is in the concentrate feeder.
