8.6.3 Tail Pieces
The tail pieces (2) being positioned at the
end of the mouldboards (1) should be ad-
justed so that they help to turn the furrow
slice. They should be adjusted uniformly.
Set too deeply, they can cause soil to fall
back into the furrow.
8.7 Skimmers
8.7.1 General Instructions
The skimmers (1) should be set to a depth
between 5 and 10 cm. In plan view the
skimmers should be positioned 2 to 3 cm
to the side of the share line.
In combination with an angle adjustment
the pivot bracket (2) can be fitted to the
bracket (3) in three different positions. This
enables always an optimum lateral position
of the skimmers, also in combination with
disc coulters.
