Ifyouarereplacingaservercomponentintheserver,youneedtoturnofftheserverandperipheraldevices,
anddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
ToinstalltheUSBcableassembly,completethefollowingsteps.
Step1.Carefullylaytheserverdownonitsside.
Step2.Unlockandremovetheleft-sidecover(see“Removingtheleft-sidecover”onpage184).
Step3.Removetheairbaffle(see“Removingtheairbaffle”onpage189).
Step4.Removethefancageassembly(see“Removingthefancageassembly”onpage272).
Step5.Standtheserverbackupinitsverticalposition.
Step6.RemovetheUSBcableandlightpathdiagnosticsassembly(see“RemovingtheUSBcableand
lightpathdiagnosticsassembly”onpage237
).
Step7.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainstheUSBcableassemblytoanyunpaintedmetal
surfaceontheserver;then,removetheassemblyfromthepackage.
Step8.SqueezetheretainingclipsoneachsideoftheUSBcableconnectorsandalignthekeyonthe
cableconnectorwiththenotchonthemountingbracket.

Step9.InserttheUSBcableassemblyintothemountingbracket;then,releasetheretainingclips.
