andPCIandPCIExpressslotscoveredoroccupied.Whenyouinstalladrive,PCI,orPCIExpress

adapter,savetheEMCshieldandﬁllerpanelfromthebayorPCIorPCIExpressadapterslotcoverinthe

eventthatyoulaterremovethedevice.

Toinstallahot-swapSASorSATAharddiskdrive,completethefollowingsteps:

Step1.Readthesafetyinformationthatbeginson“Safety”onpagevand“Installationguidelines”on

page116.

Step2.Removetheﬁllerpanelfromtheemptydrivebay.Keeptheﬁllerpanelinasafeplace.

Step3.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainsthedrivetoanyunpaintedmetalsurfaceonthe

server;then,removethedrivefromthepackageandplaceitonastatic-protectivesurface.

Step4.Installtheharddiskdriveinthedrivebay:

a.Makesurethatthetrayhandleisintheopen(unlocked)position.

b.Alignthedrivewiththeguiderailsinthebay.

c.Gentlypushthedriveintothebayuntilthedrivestops.

theyellowharddiskdrivestatusLEDofadriveislitcontinuously,thatdriveisfaultyandmust
