Messagesarelistedontheleftsideofthescreen,anddetailsabouttheselectedmessagearedisplayed
ontherightsideofthescreen.Tomovefromoneentrytothenext,usetheUpArrow()andDown
Arrow()keys.
SomeIMMsensorscauseassertioneventstobeloggedwhentheirsetpointsarereached.Whena
setpointconditionnolongerexists,acorrespondingdeassertioneventislogged.However,notallevents
areassertion-typeevents.

ViewingeventlogsthroughtheSetupUtility
UsethisinformationtovieweventlogsthroughtheSetupUtility.
ToviewthePOSTeventlogorsystem-eventlog,completethefollowingsteps:
Step1.Turnontheserver.
Step2.Whentheprompt<F1>Setupisdisplayed,pressF1.Ifyouhavesetbothapower-onpasswordand
anadministratorpassword,youmusttypetheadministratorpasswordtoviewtheeventlogs.
Step3.SelectSystemEventLogsanduseoneofthefollowingprocedures:
ToviewthePOSTeventlog,selectPOSTEventViewers.
Toviewthesystem-eventlog,selectSystemEventLog.
Viewingeventlogswithoutrestartingtheserver
IftheserverisnothungandtheIMMisconnectedtoanetwork,methodsareavailableforyoutoviewoneor
moreeventlogswithouthavingtorestarttheserver.
IfyouhaveinstalledLenovoToolsCenterSuiteCLI,youcanuseittoviewthesystem-eventlog(astheIPMI
eventlog),ortheIMM2chassiseventlog(astheASMeventlog),theoperating-systemeventlogs,orthe
mergedLenovoToolsCenterSuiteCLIlog.YoucanalsouseDSAPreboottoviewtheselogs,althoughyou
mustrestarttheserver.ToinstallLenovoToolsCenterSuiteCLIorcheckforanddownloadalaterversionof
LenovoToolsCenterSuiteCLIimage,gotohttps://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/LNVO-CENTER.
IfIPMItoolisinstalledintheserver,youcanuseittoviewthesystem-eventlog.Mostrecentversions
