theﬂashmemoryontheserver,oryoucancreateabootablemediasuchasaCD,DVD,ISO,USB,or

PXEusingtheToolsCenterBootableMediaCreator(BoMC).Formoredetails,seetheBoMCUserGuide

athttps://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/LNVO-BOMC.Inadditiontothecapabilitiesoftheother

editionsofDSA,DSAPrebootincludesdiagnosticroutinesthatwouldbedisruptivetorunwithinthe

operating-systemenvironment(suchasresettingdevicesandcausinglossofnetworkconnectivity).Ithasa

graphicaluserinterfacethatyoucanusetospecifywhichdiagnosticstorunandtoviewthediagnosticand

datacollectionresults.

DSAPrebootprovidesdiagnosticsforthefollowingsystemcomponents,iftheyareinstalled:

•Opticaldevices(CDorDVD)

•Tapedrives(SCSI,SAS,orSATA)

•Memory

•Microprocessor

•Checkpointpanel

RunningtheDSAPrebootdiagnosticprograms

UsethisinformationtoruntheDSAPrebootdiagnosticprograms.

Note:TheDSAmemorytestmighttakeupto30minutestorun.Iftheproblemisnotamemoryproblem,

skipthememorytest.

ToruntheDSAPrebootdiagnosticprograms,completethefollowingsteps:

Step1.Iftheserverisrunning,turnofftheserverandallattacheddevices.

Step2.Turnonallattacheddevices;then,turnontheserver.

Step3.Whentheprompt<F2>Diagnosticsisdisplayed,pressF2.

Note:TheDSAPrebootdiagnosticprogrammightappeartobeunresponsiveforanunusual

lengthoftimewhenyoustarttheprogram.Thisisnormaloperationwhiletheprogramloads.The

loadingprocessmaytakeupto10minutes.

Step4.Optionally,selectQuittoDSAtoexitfromthestand-alonememorydiagnosticprogram.

Note:Afteryouexitfromthestand-alonememorydiagnosticenvironment,youmustrestartthe

servertoaccessthestand-alonememorydiagnosticenvironmentagain.
