Step1.Readthesafetyinformationthatbeginson“Safety”onpagevand“Installationguidelines”on
page116
.
Step2.Turnofftheserverandperipheraldevicesanddisconnectallpowercords.
Step3.Removethecover(see“Removingthecoveronpage119).
Step4.IfyouareinstallinganeworreplacementSAS/SATAadapter,touchthestatic-protectivepackage
thatcontainsthenewSAS/SATAadaptertoanyunpaintedmetalsurfaceontheserver.Then,
removethenewSAS/SATAadapterfromthepackage.
Step5.AligntheSAS/SATAadaptersothatthekeysaligncorrectlywiththeconnectoronthesystemboard.
Step6.InserttheSAS/SATAadapterinthededicatedconnectoronthesystemboardorthePCIriser-card
assemblyslot.
Attention:
1.Incompleteinsertionmightcausedamagetotheserverortheadapter.
2.NotetheorderandpositionofthecablestotheRAIDcardpriortoservice.Misconnectingthe
harddiskdrivecablesmayresultinalostRAIDarray.
