server.
Notes:
•When4GBormoreofmemory(physicalorlogical)isinstalled,somememoryisreservedforvarious
systemresourcesandisunavailabletotheoperatingsystem.Theamountofmemorythatisreservedfor
systemresourcesdependsontheoperatingsystem,theconfigurationoftheserver,andtheconfigured
PCIoptions.
•TheEthernet1connectorsupportsWakeonLANfeature.
•Whenyouturnontheserverwiththegraphicaladaptersinstalled,theLenovologodisplaysonthescreen
afterapproximatelythreeminutes.Thisisnormaloperationwhilethesystemloads.
Turningofftheserver
Usethisinformationtoturnofftheserver.
Whenyouturnofftheserverandleaveitconnectedtopower,theservercanrespondtorequeststothe
serviceprocessor,suchasaremoterequesttoturnontheserver.Whiletheserverremainsconnectedto
power,oneormorefansmightcontinuetorun.Toremoveallpowerfromtheserver,youmustdisconnectit
fromthepowersource.
Someoperatingsystemsrequireanorderlyshutdownbeforeyouturnofftheserver.Seeyour
operating-systemdocumentationforinformationaboutshuttingdowntheoperatingsystem.
CAUTION:
Thepowercontrolbuttononthedeviceandthepowerswitchonthepowersupplydonotturnoff
theelectricalcurrentsuppliedtothedevice.Thedevicealsomighthavemorethanonepower
cord.Toremoveallelectricalcurrentfromthedevice,ensurethatallpowercordsaredisconnected
fromthepowersource.
Theservercanbeturnedoffinanyofthefollowingways:
•Youcanturnofftheserverfromtheoperatingsystem,ifyouroperatingsystemsupportsthisfeature.After
anorderlyshutdownoftheoperatingsystem,theserverwillturnoffautomatically.
•Youcanpressthepower-controlbuttontostartanorderlyshutdownoftheoperatingsystemandturnoff
theserver,ifyouroperatingsystemsupportsthisfeature.
•Iftheoperatingsystemstopsfunctioning,youcanpressandholdthepower-controlbuttonformore
thanfoursecondstoturnofftheserver.
