Beforeyouremovethesystemboardfromtheserver,takethefollowingstepstosavedata,firmware,
andconfigurationdata:
•Recordallsystemconfigurationinformation,suchasIMMIPaddresses,vitalproductdata,andthe
machinetype,modelnumber,serialnumber,UniversallyUniqueIdentifier,andassettagoftheserver.
•UsingtheAdvancedSettingsUtility(ASU),savethesystemconfigurationtoexternalmedia.
•Savethesystem-eventlogtoexternalmedia.
Note:Whenyoureplacethesystemboard,youmusteitherupdatetheserverwiththelatestfirmwareor
restorethepre-existingfirmwarethatthecustomerprovidesonadisketteorCDimage.Makesurethatyou
havethelatestfirmwareoracopyofthepre-existingfirmwarebeforeyouproceed.

Step3.Pullthepowersuppliesoutoftherearoftheserver,justenoughtodisengagethemfromtheserver.
