UsethisinformationtoinstallaServeRAIDadapterbatteryorflashpowermoduleintheremotebatterytray.
TheIntelligentBatteryBackupUnit(iBBU)isanoptionalbatteryfortheServeRAIDadapter.Itisreferredto
asthebatterythroughoutthissection.Youmustpurchasetheremotebatterycableandinstallthebatteryat
adistancefromtheServeRAIDadaptertoavoidoverheating.
Youcaninstalluptotwobatteriesontheremotebatterytraysonthechassis.
Toinstallabatteryontheremotebatterytray,completethefollowingsteps:
Step1.Readthesafetyinformationthatbeginsonpage“Safety”onpagevand“Installationguidelines”
onpage30.
Step2.Turnofftheserver(see“Turningofftheserver”onpage19)andallattachedperipheraldevices.
Disconnectallpowercords;then,disconnectallexternalcablesfromtheserver.
Step3.Removetheservertopcover(see“Removingtheservertopcover”onpage32).
Step4.InstallthebatteryintheRAIDbatterytray:
1.Orientthebatteryasshowninthefollowingillustration;then,lowerthebatteryintotheRAID
batterytray.Ifthebatterycomeswithabatterycarrier,ensurethatbatterycarrierpostsalign
withtheringsonthebatterymountingslotsothatthebatterycarrierissecureintheslot.
2.Pushthebatteryretentionclipbacktoitsverticalpositionuntilitsnapsintoplace,thereby
securingthebattery.
