ClearingCMOSdatadoesnotaffecttheadministratorpassword.
Administratorpassword
Ifanadministratorpasswordisset,youmusttypetheadministratorpasswordforaccesstothefullSetup
utilitymenu.Youcanuseanycombinationof6to20printableASCIIcharactersforthepassword.
Attention:Ifyousetanadministratorpasswordandthenforgetit,thereisnowaytochange,override,
orremoveit.Youmustreplacethesystemboard.
UsingtheBootManagerprogram
UsethisinformationfortheBootManager.
TheBootManagerprogramisabuilt-in,menu-drivenconfigurationutilityprogramthatyoucanuseto
temporarilyredefinethefirststartupdevicewithoutchangingsettingsintheSetuputility.
TousetheBootManagerprogram,completethefollowingsteps:
Step1.Turnofftheserver.
Step2.Restarttheserver.
Step3.Whentheprompt<F12>SelectBootDeviceisdisplayed,pressF12.IfabootableUSBmass
storagedeviceisinstalled,asubmenuitem(USBKey/Disk)isdisplayed.
Step4.UsetheUparrowandDownarrowkeystoselectanitemfromtheBootSelectionMenuand
pressEnter.
Thenexttimetheserverstarts,itreturnstothestartupsequencethatissetintheSetuputility.
Startingthebackupserverfirmware
Usethisinformationtostartthebackupserverfirmware.
Thesystemboardcontainsabackupcopyareafortheserverfirmware.Thisisasecondarycopyofthe
serverfirmwarethatyouupdateonlyduringtheprocessofupdatingtheserverfirmware.Iftheprimarycopy
oftheserverfirmwarebecomesdamaged,usethisbackupcopy.
Toforcetheservertostartfromthebackupcopy,turnofftheserver;then,placetheJ2jumperinthe
backupposition(pins2and3).
Usethebackupcopyoftheserverfirmwareuntiltheprimarycopyisrestored.Aftertheprimarycopyis
restored,turnofftheserver;then,movetheJ2jumperbacktotheprimaryposition(pins1and2).
TheUpdateXpressSystemPackInstaller
TheUpdateXpressSystemPackInstallerdetectssupportedandinstalleddevicedriversandfirmwareinthe
serverandinstallsavailableupdates.
