2. Measurement of the valve guide clearance.
2.1 Measure the outside diameter of the valve stem in the zone of the guide bush.
2.2 Measure the inside diameter of the guide bush in traverse direction of the engine.

3. Replacement of the valve guide
Note:
If possible replace the valve guide in the workshop of a MaK dealer during the overhaul of
cylinder head. There is a risk that the cylinder cover may be damaged when the old valve
guide is knocked out.
