Operating medium: Heavy fuel and distillate fuel
Note:
The strainer on the suction side of the lubricating oil pumps must be checked and cleaned,
if necessary, 24 to 48 hours of operation after the start- up of a new installation or working
on the suction side of the lubricating oil piping system.
The oil change interval depends on the following:
Lubricating oil quality
Engine operating conditions
Lubricating oil consumption
Lubricating oil filtering and centrifugal purifying
Quantity of lubricating oil in the system
The oil change interval can be extended if allowed by the results of the oil analysis. For per-
missible analysis values (see A4.05.08.nn, Regulations and Care, Engine Lubricating Oil).
Sequence of operations:
1. Drain the engine circulation system
and lubricating oil circulation tank.
2. Clean the tank and crankcase
if necessary.
3. If necessary, remove oil pressure
control valve (Fig. 1/1), check pressure
spring and valve seat.
Lift off pressure = 4.0 bar
4. Inspect strainer (2) at the suction side of
the lubricating oil pumps and clean
if necessary.
5. Clean lubricating oil duplex filter and
lubricating oil automatic filter.
6. Remove and clean lubricating oil cooler
(see manufacturer's documentation
Book C).
