Operating medium: Distillate fuel
Inspection:
Check the sound absorber of the turbo charger (perforated plate) for dirt accumulation
every 7,500 operating hours.
In the case of a contamination of the perforated plate, clean it with a brush (no wire brush)
and detergent. Collect and dispose the contaminated detergent.
Note:
Only perform the cleaning when the engine is stopped. Observe the product
manufacturer‘s safety regulations.
Auxiliary material:
Detergent (Tankclean) according to the manufacturer‘s recommandations, e. g. by:
Vecom GmbH, Hamburg
Drew ameroid GmbH, Hamburg
UNITOR chemicals
In the case of heavy contamination of the perforated plate (Fig. 1/1), remove the turbo
charger (Fig. 1/2) (rope and hoist), and place it into a Tankclean-bath (Fig. 1/3), so that only
the perforated plate is moistened (Fig. 1).
It must be observed that not any Tankclean penetrates into the damping material
(connecting members, Fig. 1/4). After a holding time of 1/2 hour clean the perforated plate
with a brush. Repeat the procedure if necessary.
