APPENDIX A: ENVIRONMENTAL SPECIFICATIONS
A.1 Overall
The following specifications apply to the entire VM600 machinery protection system (MPS).
NOTE: Operating and storage temperatures for individual components are included at the
end of this appendix. For further information on individual components, please
refer to the specific data sheets listed in Appendix Appendix B: .
Power supply (to VM600 MPS rack)
• AC-input version
(RPS6U AC)
Nominal input (line) voltage:
115/230 V
AC
or 220 V
DC
AC line voltage:
115 V
AC
(90 V
AC
to 132 V
AC
), 50/60 Hz, 8 A
or
230 V
AC
(180 V
AC
to 264 V
AC
), 50/60 Hz, 5 A.
• DC-input version
(RPS6U 24 DC)
Nominal input (line) voltage: 24 V
DC
DC line voltage:
24 V
DC
(20 V
DC
to 32 V
DC
), 24 A
• DC-input version
(RPS6U 110 DC)
Nominal input (line) voltage: 100 V
DC
DC line voltage:
110 V
DC
(82 V
DC
to 145 V
DC
), 5 A
Note: In a VM600 rack, the DC-input versions of the RPS6U rack power supply
(RPS6U 24 DC and RPS6U 24 DC) provide two levels of insulation (either double or
reinforced) between the input to RPS6U power supply (from the external mains power
supply (DC)) and the outputs from the RPS6U power supply.
Operating temperature
• Minimum −25, −20 or 0°C, depending on the VM600 system
components used (see A.2 Operating temperatures
for individual VM600 system components and
A.4 Temperature derating for the power entry
module of a VM600 rack)
• Maximum 65°C
