  If the power trim on your Mercury Engine isn't working and the motor isn't running, the first thing to check is the fuse. Replace it if it's blown. Fuses may be located near the dash trim switch, at the trim pump, or in the positive (red) power trim battery lead near the battery switch, or a combination of these. Also, inspect all electrical connections and wires for looseness, dirt, or damage. Clean and tighten any faulty connections, and repair or replace any damaged wiring.
