Figure 010-1: Drip Tray Contact Springs
The two associated contacts are on the rear of the drip tray (Figure 010-2).
The power electronic registers whether the drip tray is present via the left
contact (Figure 010-2, Item 1)
and the two “drip tray present” contact springs
(Figure 010-1, Item 1). When 13.5 fluid ounces (400 milliliters) residual water
is in the drip tray, both contacts (Figure 010-2, Items 1 and 2) touch the
water. The power electronic then detects a level of conductivity via the drip
tray level contact (Figure 010-1, Item 2) and registers that the drip tray is full.
The message Please empty drip tray is displayed.

The drip tray present contact springs and the drip tray level contact spring
can be checked in the service mode; see Section 060-4.5.
