4. Remove the base plate (Figure 020-2).
5. Replace the silicone hose between the flow meter and the coffee/hot
water pump (see the instructions included with the replacement hose).
3.4 Steam Not Available
Symptom:
During initial commissioning or when the appliance has not been used for a
very long time, no steam can be produced. The pump operates.
Cause:
Connection hose is blocked. Until machine no. 13/...: Different metals in the
tubes and connections of the flow-through heater have reacted with the
residual water. Deposits produced during this reaction have blocked the
connection hose.
Note:
The deposits are not a health hazard.
Remedy:
From machine no. 14/65391607: After final production line testing, appliances
are emptied. The reaction can no longer take place.
From machine no. 14/65403457: Plastic connectors have been installed on
the steam flow-through heater. The reaction can no longer take place.
Replace the blocked connection hose, mat. no. 06059740.
Cause:
Models from machine no. 14/... are emptied after final production line testing.
During initial commissioning, it may take some time until the first steam is
available.
Remedy:
Select the Heating with steam function and allow it to operate for 1.5 to 2 minutes.
Cause:
During a long period of non-use, residual water in the appliance has
evaporated. After a long period of non-use, it may take some time until the
first steam is available.
Remedy:
Select the Heating with steam function and allow it to operate for 1.5 to 2 minutes.
3.5 Switch Knobs Do Not Always Operate Correctly
(CVA 2650/2660 Only)
Symptom:
Pressure applied to the switch knob is not always transferred to the switch on
the electronic.
Cause:
Manufacturing tolerance of the switch knobs.
Remedy:
The switch knobs have been shortened by 0.02 inches (0.5 millimeters) to
ensure that correct switching action takes place.
