Troubleshooting the Vehicle Cradle
Symptom Possible Cause Action
EDA battery
charging LED does
not light up.
Cradle is not receiving
power.
Ensure the power input cable is securely connected to the
cradle’s power port.
EDA battery is not
recharging.
EDA was removed from
the cradle too soon.
Replace the EDA in the cradle. The standard capacity
battery (1900 mAh) fully charges in less than four hours.
The extended capacity battery (3800 mAh) fully charges in
less than eight hours.
Battery is faulty. Replace the battery.
EDA is not placed
correctly in the cradle.
Remove the EDA from the cradle, and re-insert correctly. If
the battery still does not charge, contact customer support.
The EDA battery charging LED slowly blinks amber when
the EDA is correctly inserted and charging.
Ambient temperature of
the cradle is too warm.
Move to an area where the ambient temperature is between
0
o
C and 35
o
C.
No data transmitted,
or transmitted data
was incomplete.
EDA removed from
cradle during
communication.
Replace EDA in cradle and retransmit.
No null modem cable
was used.
Some external devices require a null modem cable.
Retransmit using a null modem cable.
Incorrect cable
configuration.
See the system administrator.
Cable missing or
disconnected.
Re-connect cable.
