Troubleshooting the Cables
Symptom Possible Cause Action
EDA battery is
not charging.
EDA was
disconnected from AC
power too soon.
Connect the power cable correctly. Confirm main battery is
charging under
Start > Settings > System > Power. The standard
capacity battery (1900 mAh) fully charges in less than four hours.
The extended capacity battery (3800 mAh) fully charges in less
than eight hours.
Battery is faulty. Verify that other batteries charge properly. If so, replace the faulty
battery.
The EDA is not fully
attached to power.
Detach and re-attach the power cable to the EDA, ensuring it is
firmly connected.
During data
communication
, no data
transmits, or
transmitted
data was
incomplete.
Cable was
disconnected from
EDA during
communications.
Re-attach the cable and retransmit.
Incorrect cable
configuration.
See the system administrator.
Communication
software is not
installed or configured
properly.
Perform setup as described in the Chapter 3, ActiveSync.
