  If the battery of your Motorola Handhelds did not charge, it could be due to the following reasons: * The battery may have failed, in which case you should replace it. * There might be no power to the cradle or cable. Ensure that power is applied to the cradle or cable. The Battery Status LED flashes amber to indicate that the MC9500-K is charging. * The MC9500-K was removed from cradle while battery was charging. Place the MC9500-K onto the cradle. The 4800 mAh battery fully charges in less than six hours. * Extreme battery temperature: Battery does not charge if ambient temperature is below 0°C (32°F) or above 40°C (104°F). * The MC9500-K might not be functioning. In this case, perform a warm boot. If the MC9500-K still does not turn on, perform a cold boot.

  Your Motorola Handhelds MC9500-K might be shutting off because: * The MC9500-K is inactive: The MC9500-K turns off after a period of inactivity. If the MC9500-K is running on battery power, set this period from 1 to 5 minutes, in one-minute intervals. If the MC9500-K is running on external power, set this period to 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, or 30 minutes. Check the Power window by selecting Start > Settings > System tab and tapping the Power icon. Select the Advanced tab and change the setting for a longer delay before the automatic shutoff feature activates. * The battery is depleted: Replace the battery. * The battery is not inserted properly: Insert the battery properly.

  If no data is transmitted or the transmitted data is incomplete during data communication on your Motorola Handhelds, it may be due to: * The MC9500-K being removed from the cradle or disconnected from the host computer during communication: Replace the MC9500-K onto the cradle, or reattach the communication cable and re-transmit. * Incorrect cable configuration. See the system administrator. * Communication software was incorrectly installed or configured. Perform setup. Chapter 2, Accessories for details.

  If your Motorola Handhelds MC9500-K wakes upon movement after suspending due to inactivity, it is because IST is set to wake the device when motion is detected. Disable Wake on Motion feature in IST.
