Pre-Assembly Inspections and
Measurements
Visually check pistons, pins and connecting rods.
Check piston pin for marks, scratches or excessive
waste.
Measure the diameter of the pin. Check pins taper
and out-of-roundness.
Check connecting rod, possible damages, marks or
waste. Damages on the connecting rod stem (profile
“I”) could cause cracks and rupture of the connecting
rod. Measure the bore of the connecting rod bushing
housing.
