GSV - GNSS Satellites in View
The GSV message identifies the GPS satellites in view, including their PRN number, elevation,
azimuth and SNR value. Each message contains data for four satellites. Second and third messages
are sent when more than 4 satellites are in view. Fields #1 and #2 indicate the total number of
messages being sent and the number of each message respectively.
Format:
$GPGSV, x, x, xx, xx, xx, xxx, xx, xx, xx, xxx, xx, xx, xx, xxx, xx, xx, xx, xxx, xx <CR><LF>
Field Format
x Total number of GSV messages: 1 to 9
x Message number: 1 to 9
xx Total number of satellites in view
xx Satellite PRN number
xx Satellite elevation in degrees (90° Maximum)
xxx Satellite azimuth in degrees true (000 to 359)
xx Satellite SNR (C/No), null when not tracking
xx,xx,xxx,xx PRN, elevation, azimuth and SNR for second satellite
xx,xx,xxx,xx PRN, elevation, azimuth and SNR for third satellite
xx,xx,xxx,xx PRN, elevation, azimuth and SNR for fourth satellite
