AVIOR-24S CHAPTER II
Hardware Integration

NAVIOR-24S ™ Revision V1.00 20.05.2008
Power Requirements
Prime Power
The NAVIOR-24S GPS/GLONASS module requires +3.20 VDC to +3.45 VDC (+3.3 V
typ
.),
typical excluding the antenna. For the VCC input a local bypass capacitor is recommended. A
capacitor (about 10μF, low ESR) is recommended. Multi-layer ceramic chip (MLCC) capacitors
can provide the best combination of low ESR and small size but may not be cost effective. A lower
cost choice may be a 10 μF tantalum capacitor (low ESR) with a small (0.1 μF to 1 μF) ceramic in
parallel. And the capacitors should put as closer as possible to the NAVIOR-24S VCC pins.
The receiver does not require any special power up or down sequencing. The receiver power is
supplied through pin 1, 3 of the I/O connector. See Table II-2 for the +3.3 VDC power
specifications:
- voltage pulse level – at most 40 mV;
- duration of pulse rising edge - 0,1 to 1,0 mc;
- duration of pulse falling edge – at most 1 mc.
Warning – The NAVIOR-24S GPS/GLONASS receiver is ready to accept commands
approximately 6 seconds after power-up. If a command is sent to the receiver within this 6
second window, the receiver will ignore the command. The NAVIOR-24S GPS/GLONASS
receiver will not respond to commands sent within the 6 second window and will discard any
associated command data.
