ZDA - Time and Date
The ZDA message contains data, such as: UTC, day, month, year and local time zone.
Format:
$GPZDA, hhmmss.ss, xx, xx, xxxx, xx, xx <CR><LF>
Field Format
hhmmss.ss UTC (when UTC offset has been decoded by the receiver)
xx Day (01 to 31)
xx Month (01 to 12)
xxxx Year
xx Local zone hours, 00h to ±13 hours (unused)
xx Local zone minutes, 00 to +59 (unused)
<CR><LF> 2 ASCII control characters
Note – Fields with local zone hours and minutes are unused (are null), because GPS receiver can’t
independently identify the local time zone offsets.
Warning – If UTC offset is not available, time output will be in GPS time until the UTC offset
value is collected from the GPS satellites. When the offset becomes available, the time will
jump to UTC time.
