7.8 Copying music from your music center to a PC
Besides the volume “Import” the music center publishes the volume “Record”.
It contains the original uncompressed les of analogue recordings. As long
as they are not removed manually they stay there. For archiving purposes
you may transfer these les to your computer before deleting them from this
volume.
8 HELP!
8.1 “My music center is dead...”
If pressing buttons and turning wheels do not produce any reaction of your
music center, please try these rst suggestions:
Press the Power On/Off button (1) on the front of your music center
for about 4-5 seconds. The music center should now been switched
off.
Press this button again for switching the music center on again. It
needs about 40 second for the initialization process and then the
main menu should be displayed again. Your stored music is not en
dangered by this action.
Unplug the music centerʼs power cord from its AC outlet. Wait a few
seconds and plug it in again. Now press the On/Off button (1) on
the front of your music center. It needs about 40 second for the
initialization process and then the main menu should be displayed
again. Your stored music is not endangered by this action.
If these actions did not do the trick, please get your “Recovery CD” and fol-
low the instructions of the next section.
8.2 Recovery CD
The music center package contains a Recovery CD, which can be used to
restore the operating system software to a music center. Please note that in
a worst case scenario of this restore process all your music songs and the ac-
companying meta data may get lost!
1. Power off the music center using the button or unplugging the power
cord.
2. Switch the music center on by pressing the On/Off switch (1) while
holding down the Play button (5) until the music centerʼs display
shows three CD icons and the music center icon.
3. Insert the Recovery CD into the slot. Please note that the music
center waits only about 10 seconds for a CD. Then the music center
starts using the operating system of the CD.
4. Choose the display language.
5. The display shows these four options:
• Delete (F1): The music center will be forced to the factory
settings. Everything, including music and data is deleted. After this
process the music center is fresh out of the box.
