Can I copy music tracks from my music center to my iPod?
Yes, you can transfer music tracks stored on your music center to your iPod
(See section 3.6 «Connecting an MP3 player» on page 21).
Can I receive Internet radio (shoutcast, icecast, ... ) with my music center?
Yes, you can listen to Internet radio stations (See section 3.5 «Internet Radio»
on page 20).
Can I create playlists?
Yes, you can defi ne your own playlists on your music center. Additionally, you
may create Searchlists, dynamic playlists whose content is defi ned by search
criteria based on the meta data. These lists are also available on the satellites.

Can I copy music fi les from my PC’s hard disk to my music center?
Yes, you copy your fi les to an import folder, the music center is publishing on
a computer network. The music center cannot play back encrypted music fi les
(See section 7.7 «Copying music from a PC to your music center» on page
36).
Is it possible to synchronize my PC’s music fi le collection automatically with the collection
inside my music center?
No, this cannot be done automatically. You may copy the music fi les manually
to the music centerʼ import folder (See section 7.7 «Copying music from a PC
to your music center» on page 36).
Do I have to use my music center for editing and administrating my music collection or
may I use my PC for this purpose?
If your music center is connected to your local area network, you may admin-
ister the music centerʼs data using a web browser. This makes it a lot easier to
enter text or edit existing meta data (See chapter 6 «Using a Web Browser
for managing your music center» on page 32).
Can I use my music center to play MP3 CDs or DVDs?
Technically it is possible. We have decided to omit this feature due to legal
reasons. When the situation concerning copyright and digital rights manage-
ment has been settled, weʼll look again into this issue.
Can my music center burn songs as MP3 fi les on CD?
No, due to the same decision concerning copyright, this is not possible right
now.
Can my music center convert music fi les from one format to another?
No, for this purpose you should use a computer.
How can I import my record collection or music tapes into my music center?
The turntable or tape deck is connected to your stereo amplifi er. You may
connect an audio out port of this amplifi er to the music centerʼs analog audio
in port. Then you can select the main menu option Analogue Recording to im-
port the signals available (See section 3.4 «Digitizing sounds of vinyl records
and analog music tapes» on page 16).
Can I connect any external hard disk to my music center?
Only Oliveʼs music center Backup Hard Disk can be connected. This allows
easy backup and restore of the contents of the music center (See section 3.7
«Backup your music collection» on page 22).
Which accessories can be connected to my music center’s USB ports?
You may attach an MP3 player (See section 3.6 «Connecting an MP3 player»
on page 21), the Olive Backup Hard Disk (See section 3.7 «Backup your mu-
sic collection» on page 20), or the Olive Keyboard.
Can I exchange the internal hard disk of my music center by myself?
No.
Is it possible that errors occur during the import of music CDs into my music center, com-
parable to these effects using a PC?
Yes, this is not completely avoidable.
Are fi rmware updates planned? How does the installation work?
Yes, this is planned. It can be done via Internet or using Update CDs provided
by us (See section 8.3 «Software update» on page 38).
Does my music center perform real routing between the WLAN and the four Ethernet
ports?
Yes, you may choose an appropriate setting (See chapter 7 «Advanced Net-
working» on page 34).
