10. Insert a 2-mm Allen key in the “X” screws depicted in figure 6-3
11. Rotate the “X” screw in both directions until the power-meter reaches a maximum. Note down the
value of this local maximum.
12. Proceed the same way with the “Y” screw: rotate it until a local maximum is reached.
13. Back to the “X” screw again: rotate it in search for the maximum value: it should be higher or equal
than the value you noted down on step 11.
14. Adjust the beam positioner related to your laser source so as to maximize the delivered power. See
the following paragraph for this procedure.
15. Repeat this procedure with the remaining sources if necessary (back to step 7 with another laser
source, the closest from your reference source)
When all the output powers have reached their nominal value, your combiner is optimized.
HOW TO ADJSUT THE BEAM POSITIONER:
In conjunction to the beam steering mirror, the beam positioner uses a glass plate to translate the beam
precisely in the geometrical center of the coupling lens.
Here are the steps to adjust this positioner while maximizing the injection throughput:
1. Insert your Allen key in the tethering hole at the top of the L-shaped body and rotate it in the
horizontal plane while checking the delivered power; stop when you reach a maximum.
