FP Modem-EU Technical Manual
4.1 Leased Line Mode
The FP Modem-EU can be operated on two-wire private cable or leased lines.

4.1.1 Usage on Leased Line or Private Cable
The modem is approved for leased lines of the public telephone system provider according to
EU standard CTR15. This means that if you rent a leased line from a provider, e.g. from
Deutsche Telekom, the modem is approved for being connected to the provider’s public
telephone system.
Moreover, the modem also works with every private telephone line in leased line mode, i.e.
even outside of Europe the modem can be used for a pier-to-pier connection via a private
telephone cable.
4.1.2 Enable Leased Line Mode with DIP Switches
In leased line mode, the modem goes online automatically after power up. After carrying out a
self diagnosis, the modem tries to establish a connection with the remote modem. It remains
active even if the remote modem was not ready yet.
To activate the automatic leased line mode, set up the FP Modem-EU as follows:
