Select the 4-20mA output channel to be tested.Connect a multimeter to the output to be tested.
Select Start 4mA Test. The multimeter should display a current of 4mA.
If the current is less than 4mA, repeatedly select Increase Current until a 4mA reading is
reached.
If the current is greater than 4mA, repeatedly select Decrease Current until a 4mA reading is
reached.
Select Start 20mA Test. The multimeter should display a current of 20mA.
If the current is less than 20mA, repeatedly select Increase Current until a 20mA reading is
reached.
If the current is greater than 20mA, repeatedly select Decrease Current until a 20mA reading is
reached.
Repeat the above tests for each 4-20mA output channel as required. Select Back to return to the
main menu.
Analogue Output Modules
The Control Unit has a limited number of 4-20mA outputs (Multicontroller: 4, Interface Module:
1). Therefore for larger sensor systems additional 4-20mA outputs are provided by Analogue
Output Modules. To set up the Analogue Output Modules, proceed as follows:
Run Autodetect which will automatically detect all the installed AOM devices.
Alternatively manually add each AOM using the ‘More Settings’ menu:
Select ‘Setup’ display
Menu route:
More Settings ↵
Add a new device ↵
AOM
Refer to the ‘More Settings’ section for full details on adding devices. Having added the AOM
devices, they will appear on the 4-20mA Settings page as shown (for two AOMs):
