Install the Firmware Updating Program, as well as the dedicated USB driver software, on your PC beforehand.
Updating Using the Firmware Updating Program (DJS)
To check that the dedicated USB driver has been installed on the PC, from the Start
menu of the PC, click on All Programs (or Programs), Pioneer, MEP-7000[SEP-C1],
then MEP-7000[SEP-C1] Version Indication Utility, in that order.
You can copy the file to the Windows desktop.
Check that the dedicated USB driver has been installed on the PC.
Copy the Firmware Updating Program file (updtmep#.##.exe) to any directory of your PC.
Connect the PC and this unit with the USB auxiliary cable then the USB cable, in that order. Turn on the unit.
Normal Style: Connect the cable to the PC connector of the drive unit. Then press the POWER key.
Manipulator Style: Connect the cable to the PC connector of the control unit.

Those two cables are supplied with this unit.
Dedicated USB driver software
Windows 98, XP, 2000, or Vista must have been
installed on the PC. (Proper operation with the English
and Japanese versions of the above operating systems
has been confirmed.)
This program is created from part of the supplied DJ
software (DJS) functions. It is offered by the Design
Department to the PSN each time the firmware is
updated.
Double-click on “updtmep#.##.exe.”
Follow the instructions displayed on the PC screen. Check that the message informing you that updating has been
properly completed is displayed. After safely terminating communication between the PC and this unit, disconnect the
USB cables.
This program is available from the CD-ROM supplied
with this unit. The latest version of this program is also
available from the Web site, as it is offered to the PSN
from the Design Department as “software for this unit.”
When connecting the PC with this unit via USB ports,
the dedicated USB driver must have been installed on
the PC. For details on how to install the driver, refer to
the operation manual of this unit.
