Crankshaft One Way Gear / Drive Sprocket
Removal and Inspection
1. Remove the baffle plate.
2. Using the Slotted Nut Socket PA-49935, remove the
crankshaft slotted nut (C) and washer (B) from the starter
drive one-way gear assembly (A).
NOTE: Slotted nut is left-hand thread.
3. Remove the starter drive one-way gear assembly (A) from
the crankshaft.
4. Remove drive sprocket (D) and woodruff key from the
crankshaft.
5. Inspect sprocket teeth of both gears for wear or damage.
6. Inspect woodruff key for wear. Replace if damaged.
7. Replace any worn or damaged parts.
