The shutter blades are closed until the shutter release button is pressed. When the shutter release
is pressed, scene light passes through the lens, through an opening in the shutter blades and onto
the film in the film holder (Figure 2-2). The dark slide must be removed to allow scene light to
reach the film.
1. Be sure the dark is removed. Look through the
viewfinder to frame the picture. Set the focus.
Measure the light.

on the distance scale.

Locate the aperture number on both side of the red focus
mark on the depth of field scale. Follow the white line up to
the distance scale and read the near and far limits of your
zone and sharp focus.
2. Set the shutter speed and lens aperture.
