6. Compare the accented and masked light leak photographs to confirm location of light leak.
Replace faulty light seal, as described in Section 4.
7. After replacement of light seal, repeat test. Compare film frames. Repeat until all light leaks
have been isolated and eliminated.
Shutter speed Test
1. Remove the film holder and place the camera on a commercially available mechanical shutter
speed teste that can read shutter speeds in seconds and fractions of seconds. (Limited
clearance on some testers may require removal of the lens barrel from the camera, or
removal of the shutter from the lens barrel.)
2. Open the shutter to the widest aperture setting, f/4.7 stop or the f/5.6 stop. Trip and test the
shutter through all the speed settings from 1 second to 1/500 second.
Note: Table 5-2 shows the allowable range of shutter speeds that are accepted by Polaroid
Corporation.

3. If any of the above speeds are not met within its allowable range, the shutter must be
replaced. Shutter repair is not covered in this manual. Shutter removal is covered in
Section 4 and in videotape training instructions.
