I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle:

a Disconnect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Re-

a Remove:
-the engine cover,
-the throttle valve (see 12A, Fuel mixture, Throttle

-the windscreen wiper arms (see Windscreen wi-

Washing),
-the scuttle panel grille (see Scuttle panel grille:

-the scoop under the scuttle panel grille (see Scoop

-the front right-hand wheel (see Wheel: Removal -

II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
a Position the tool (Mot. 1490-01) (1) on the camshaft
pulleys.
a Remove the camshaft dephaser blanking cover (2) .
Essential special tooling
Mot. 1490-01 Locking and adjusting cams-
haft pulleys.
Tightening torquesm
new nut on the exhaust
camshaft pulley
30 N.m + 84˚
new bolt on the cams-
haft dephaser
100 N.m
