REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Disconnect the battery (see Battery : Removal -
Refitting) (80A, Battery).
a Remove:
-the engine cover,
-the injector rail protector (see 13B, Diesel injec-
tion, Injector rail protector: Removal - Refitting,
page 13B-70) .
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
a Disconnect the heater plug connectors (1) .
a Clean around the outside of the heater plugs with a
compressed air gun to prevent any impurities from
entering the cylinders.
a Unscrew the heater plugs using a 10 mm long soc-
ket connected to a universal joint or a hinged
wrench for heater plug.

IMPORTANT
Wear goggles with side protectors for this opera-
tion.
Note:
If the heater plugs are seized, use the tool for
removing heater plugs (see Heater plug remo-
val tool: Use) (Technical Note 5197A, 06A, Too-
ling).
WARNING
Ensure that no dirt enters the cylinder during this
operation.
