Timing belt: Removal - Refitting

a Position the (Mot. 1801).
a Bring the toothed sprockets of the (Mot. 1801) into
contact with the camshaft pulleys.
a Torque tighten the toothed sprocket nuts (80
N.m).
a Undo:
-the old inlet camshaft dephaser bolt,
-the old exhaust camshaft nut.
a Fit without tightening:
-a new bolt on the camshaft dephaser,
-a new nut on the exhaust camshaft pulley.
a Tighten to torque:
-the new bolt on the camshaft dephaser (100
N.m),
-the new nut on the exhaust camshaft pulley (30
N.m).
a Remove:
- the bolt (33) from the (Mot. 1496),
- the camshaft setting tool (Mot. 1496).
a Angle tighten the exhaust camshaft pulley nut (86˚
±±
±±
6˚).
a Remove:
- the (Mot. 1801),
- the TDC setting pin (Mot. 1054).
a Refit:
-a new cap on the end of the inlet camshaft using
the tool (Mot. 1487),
-a new cap on the end of the exhaust camshaft
using the tool (Mot. 1488),
-a new blanking cover on the camshaft dephaser.
a Torque tighten the camshaft dephaser blanking
cover (25 N.m).
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Refit:
- the lower timing cover,
- the lower timing cover heat shield,
- the upper timing cover,
- the bulkhead upper heat shield,
- the right-hand suspended engine mounting (see
19D, Engine mounting, Right-hand suspended
engine mounting: Removal - Refitting, page
19D-18) .
a Remove the tool (Mot. 1453) fitted with the tool
(Mot. 1453-01) and the safety strap(s).
a Connect the turbocharger vacuum pipe.
a Clip on the turbocharger vacuum pipe clip.
