TOP AND FRONT OF ENGINE
Camshaft dephaser: Removal - Refitting
K4M, and 858 or 866

a Degrease the end of the camshaft (timing end) and
clean the bores and bearing faces of the camshaft
dephaser.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Refit:
-the exhaust camshaft pulley.
-the camshaft dephaser,
-a new nut on the exhaust camshaft pulley,
-a new bolt on the camshaft dephaser.
a Position the tool (Mot. 1490-01) on the camshaft
pulleys.
a Tighten to torque:
-the new nut on the exhaust camshaft pulley (30
N.m + 84˚),
-the new bolt on the camshaft dephaser (100
N.m).
a Refit the blanking cover on the camshaft dephaser.
a Remove the tool (Mot. 1490-01) from the camshaft
pulleys.
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Refit:
-the timing belt (see 11A, Top and front of engine,
Timing belt: Removal - Refitting, page 11A-29) ,
-the crankshaft accessories pulley (see 11A, Top
and front of engine, Crankshaft accessories
pulley: Removal - Refitting, page 11A-15) ,
-the right-hand suspended engine mounting (see
19D, Engine mounting, Right-hand suspended
engine mounting: Removal - Refitting, page
19D-18) ,
-the accessories belt (see 11A, Top and front of

page 11A-7) ,
-the lower engine tie-bar (see 19D, Engine moun-

-the engine undertray,
-the front section of the front right-hand wheel arch
