TURBOCHARGING
Turbocharger: Removal - Refitting

a Remove:
-the turbocharger nuts (2) ,
-the turbocharger,
-the turbocharger heat shield.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a Always replace the turbocharger heat shield.
a Use SURFACE CLEANER (see Vehicle: Parts
and ingredients for the repairwork) (04B, Consu-
mables - Products) to clean and degrease the joint
faces:
-on the turbocharger,
-of the exhaust manifold.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Refit:
-a new turbocharger heat shield,
-the turbocharger,
-the turbocharger strut.
a Torque tighten the turbocharger nuts (25 Nm).
a Torque tighten the turbocharger bracket bolts (25
N.m).
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Refit:
-the lower engine tie-bar (see 19D, Engine moun-
ting, Lower engine tie-bar: Removal - Refitting,
page 19D-33) ,
-the turbocharger oil pipe (see 12B, Turbochar-
ging, Turbocharger oil pipe: Removal - Refit-
ting, page 12B-22) ,
- the exhaust gases duct at the turbocharger outlet
(see 12B, Turbocharging, Turbocharger outlet
exhaust gas duct: Removal - Refitting, page
12B-49) ,
- the exhaust gas recirculation assembly (see 14A,
Antipollution, Exhaust gas recirculation as-

- the exhaust gas recirculation rigid pipes (see 14A,
